A volte basta valorizzare alcune caratteristiche presenti all’interno di una abitazione per migliorarne la loro funzionalità, rendendole così, protagoniste del progetto stesso.
L’intervento è consistito nel rendere un unico ambiente la zona giorno di un appartamento su due livelli, questo si è ottenuto demolendo i muri che delimitavano la cucina e quelli che chiudevano la scala che porta al secondo piano, rendendola buia e poco valorizzata.
Il fulcro per la scelta progettuale è stata la scala, infatti rappresenta un elemento importante per una casa che si sviluppa su due livelli, così si è pensato di metterla in luce valorizzandola, ampliandone lievemente la sua larghezza e rendendola visibile dalla zona giorno e al contempo luminosa; inoltre si è pensato di sostituire l’attuale camino, forse un pò sovradimensionato per la zona giorno, con un camino design, esteticamente gradevole e molto funzionale durante l’inverno. Sarebbe inoltre gradevole chiudere con una struttura precaria a vetri l’attuale terrazza, così da rendere più ampia la zona giorno e al contempo più fruibile.
